New bridge arrives in Lower Park

The new bridge is open.

A large crane hoisted the span off the truck and swung it into place

A new span for the footbridge at the east end of the deer pen, near the Forest Avenue park entrance, arrived on Oct. 24, 2003. It was hoisted into place by a crane. Approaches and surfacing were added over the next few days. The bridge is now open.

It's a tight fit as a truck backs the bridge into position from Petersen Dr.
