1 (9 am to noon) Comanche Creek Greenway Volunteer Session Meet at the dirt parking lot by the intersection of East Park Ave. and Midway. We will be working on the south side of the creek, removing milkthistle and yellow starthistle.  If possible, wear long pants & lightweight long-sleeve shirt. Must wear closed-toe shoes; bring water and work gloves if you can. 5 (1 to 4 pm) Volunteer Thursdays! Volunteers will meet with a team leader at the horseshoe pits at the south One Mile Recreation Area (Map). Activities can include: litter pick-up, removing non-native, invasive vegetation, planting of native species and much more! Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring a container for water, wear sunscreen and mosquito repellent as appropriate and bring gloves if possible. Long pants are recommended. 37th Annual Endangered Species Faire at One Mile Recreation Area  Map from 11 am to 4 pm.  Live animals, music, activities for kids, booths, food.  Limited parking so carpool or bicycle to event.  For more information, see Butte Environmental Council.

(8 AM- Noon)  Spring Trail Brushing Come out and join us for some spring trail brushing in Bidwell Park. This will be our first day on the South Side of Upper Park. We will meet at Green Gate parking area Map (off Hwy 32) and will be walking down 10 Mile House Road to work on Annie B Trail.

We ask trail work volunteers to bring gloves, water, snacks. Please come to volunteer days in proper clothing to work. Proper clothing includes closed toe shoes, long pants, and long sleeve shirt. We also have a limited number of loppers if you have your own please bring them. We will be hiking in for the workday. Heavy rain or wet trail conditions will cancel work. We will post cancellations or updates on the Trailworks Face Book page. Please call Steven Clipperton, 805-704-1941 if you have any questions or need directions to the site. Volunteers provide a snapshot of the health of the creek by collecting water quality data at ten different sites during each event. Training is provided. Annual Polar Bear Swim across Lower Bidwell Park's Sycamore Pool Map starting at 1 pm.  This is a no-host event--you just show up at the appropriate time. Even if you don't want to brave the chilly waters, this is a fun park event to attend and you're sure to see some of your neighbors and friends!
