Annie B’s Community Drive was again a significant success. The two-month donation window (August – September), ably administered by the North Valley Community Foundation, caused $7,520 (including a 6.5% match from corporate donors) into the coffers of Friends of Bidwell Park. Also, FOBP was awarded $6,385, a 90% match of its Annie B’s 2016 donations, from a City of Chico Community Grant. This will continue for a third year, FOBP’s partnership with Downtown Chico Business Association and their Bidwell Park Cleanup Brigade for weekly trash removal from Children’s Park to One-Mile Dam. Thanks to all of you that contributed in 2016 and past years which has enabled FOBP to advance the appreciation and preservation of Bidwell Park

This is the last year of the ten-year Annie B’s Community Drive which has been a major boon to a growing number of nonprofit organizations in and around Butte County. Hopefully, North Valley Community Foundation will reengage some short of their respected and fruitful Community Fund Drive in year 2017. Otherwise, FOBP can make its own fund drive happen, so we don’t lose the donation habit.

Cheers to your generosity.

Woody Elliott, Treasurer – FOBP
